When I was 12 I went into the system. When I was 13 I met my first family, they told people I wasn’t safe and a liar. When I was 14 I met the second family, I got sick and they told me if I couldn’t go horse back riding in 12 degree weather with the flu I didn’t need to be apart of the family. when I was 15 I met the best people in the world and my whole perspective on life was changed.

The first part of your note brought tears to my eyes. The last sentence changed them to happy tears. Are there specific things they did that really made the difference? (If like to know both for the book and for selfish reasons, since we are parenting a preteen and teen.)

I think that is great that you are writing a book! People need to hear your wise words! I wish you the best with it!!
I don’t have any experience with foster care so I feel like I can’t adequately answer these questions but I hope you do get a lot of feedback.
